URL Changed

December 3rd, 2007

8-bit SkullSo, I just noticed an easy reconfiguration that changed my URL from: http://www.manifex.net/wordpress to http://www.manifex.net. Too bad I overlooked it earlier. That always bugged me. A couple of years as a systems admin brings new light to these kind of issues. :D

Happy Birthday!!!

December 2nd, 2007

Dr. Seuss Birthday

Olivia is two today!!! She had a party at the Laurelwood for friends last night. A couple of her friends and their parents joined us. We all had lots of fun: kids played in the play area nicely and parents drank beer. We finished everything up with presents and cake. The whole restaurant joined in during her song. It’s nice when things work out that well. She had a blast.

Today, it’s the family party at our house. Pics to come…

Olivia’s First Halloween

November 11th, 2007

Halloween 2007

Olivia had a great first Halloween! A week prior, we went to Plumper Pumpkin Patch and found some great pumpkins. Olivia went down plenty of slides and got to pet some barn yard animals.

On Halloween, Olivia went out for her first Trick-or-Treat as a SKUNK! At the first house she was a bit nervous, but after the homeowner’s reaction and the handfull of candy she got, she had a really great time. In total, she visited about a dozen homes and got around 3 dozen peices of candy. Too bad Mommy and Daddy ate most of it!!!

To see photos of Olivia on Halloween, go to the photo section and look under Holidays.

Quick Update

October 20th, 2007

Well, I have been neglecting my website again…  Not surprising.   Everything is going well.  Olivia is almost two and can talk, climb, scream, dance, sing, and pick up words waaaay too quick.  Jenn and I put our house on the market…  Bad timing, but we are committed to selling soon.  We have outgrown our home.

Jenn and I went to Europe in September to attend Mark and Jojanneke’s wedding in Den Haag.  We also spent a week in Switzerland for our 5th wedding anniversary.   It was a blast and a much needed break.  Photos and more updates coming soon.

Life.current Update

June 16th, 2007

All of my Music is DONE! All the Photos are DONE! Movies are for another day…

I am now going through every data CD/DVD I have and disposing of things I don’t need/want anymore. Hopefully I’ll finish that up tonight and move on the video games. It’s good to catch up with all this crap before we move. Don’t know why, but it’s weight off the shoulders.

Kickin’ Babies like you wanna be.

You have got to check out this Man/Baby Statue Post. It’s by an artist in Norway named Gustav Vigeland who studied under Rodin, I beleive. Anyway, it’s just great!

Life.current Update

June 6th, 2007

Got all the data merged, now it’s time to purge!!! The music is mostly done. My initial collection was 45 gigs, and I have removed all singles and low-quality MP3s, leaving me with a 37GB collection… 15 days of nonstop music hand-picked by me! Now onto the documents and photos. Check ya later.

Project Life.current

June 3rd, 2007

Life.current sprang out of me getting my new machine and wanting to merge all my data that sprawled over 3 machines. BTW I bought an Apple MacBook 13″ with 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 677MHz SDRAM, 120GB HD 5200RPM. I really was hoping for the 12″ MacBook Pro, but Apple let me down. It’s all good though, I spent less money this way and I sorta like the whiteness of the MacBook.
Life.current is my attempt at managing and disseminating my mounds of data pilling up around me: pictures, movies, documents, music, e-mail, etc. The worst part is that all forms exist on both digital and analog mediums. Life.current will merge all of my data so that it will love in one place. I’ve got a few stages planned out that will probably take me a year or two to finish.

    • Stage 1: Merge and Purge
      • Merge: Digital Music, Documents, Movies, Photos, etc.
      • Purge: All overlapping, outdated, or unwanted data
    • Stage 2: Sort
      • Sort, label, and organize all pertinent data
    • Stage 3: Collect and Import
      • Collect all analog data and convert it to digital data
      • Import data
    • Stage 4: Backup
      • Backup Data
      • Goto Stage 1 until finished

Last night I merged all my Music, Photos, and Documents… Now it’s on to the purge!
