Online social networking has been part of my life for a while, but it has now gotten to the point where it is actually worthwhile for me. After receiving many messages from friends I haven’t spoken with in years, Facebook has come out on top as my favorite networking site. My friendster account […]

URL Changed

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

So, I just noticed an easy reconfiguration that changed my URL from: http://www.manifex.net/wordpress to http://www.manifex.net. Too bad I overlooked it earlier. That always bugged me. A couple of years as a systems admin brings new light to these kind of issues.

Project Life.current

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

Life.current sprang out of me getting my new machine and wanting to merge all my data that sprawled over 3 machines. BTW I bought an Apple MacBook 13″ with 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 677MHz SDRAM, 120GB HD 5200RPM. I really was hoping for the 12″ MacBook Pro, but Apple let me […]

Best Error Message EVAR!

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Alert: CPU Load on Firewall is now 406 %
So great! A CPU couldn’t even report that message if it was running at 406%! The next message received was:
Reset: CPU Load on Firewall is now 5 %
Looks like error reporting has a long way to go!

So Comcast sent someone out the next day. […]

Comcast pretty much resolved.

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I am so sick of dealing with this… By now 7 techs have come to our house, and I’ve tested 2 modems, 3 routers, and 2 computers with the connection. The last tech that came out was a line tech and said everything looked good, except for the boost that V did.
The […]

Comca$tic

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

So… A little update on the Comcast issue. Things are getting better, yet still remains frustrating. Luckily, Best Buy took back my modem. The customer service person wasn’t very surprised at the return. So at least I got my $80 back, and am back to using my original modem.
Comcast’s […]

My Comcast… it sucks.

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

OK, so I should be posting about something important (like pictures from my daughter’s first birthday,) but I can’t resist the urge to document the recent experience am having with my Comcast service. To sum it up, it is sucking. So far cost me a few hours of my time […]
